Job Title:  Senior Structural Steel Estimator

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Structural Steel Estimator to work with our Structural Steel team in Newbridge, Co.Kildare.

What you will be doing:

  • Compiling tender and quotation submissions
  • Gathering preliminary project details
  • Conducting measurements and performing 'Quantity Take-Off' from blueprints
  • Creating NRM2 Bills of Quantities
  • Constructing tender prices from first principles based on work scope, plans, specifications, and timeline
  • Building relationships with current clients and seeking new ones
  • Gathering and disseminating feedback
  • Staying informed about cutting-edge methodologies
  • Delivering presentations for adjudication
  • Collaborating with Suppliers to secure optimal value
  • Undertaking additional relevant tasks as needed periodically
  • Liaising with the Senior Estimator and MIL Team to support project requirements.

 

What you are looking for:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in estimating within the structural steel or wider civil engineering sector, including successfully delivering the estimator role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction with direct site exposure, preferably on structural steel projects.
  • Proven experience in estimating within the structural steel or wider civil engineering sector, including successfully delivering the estimator role.
  • Be able to review ITT Technical & Commercial documentation on an individual project basis.
  • Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.
