Job Title:  Senior Quantity Surveyor

Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work with our Transportation & Infrastructure team in Dublin Port (Hybrid role).

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare bottom‑up forecasts at contract award stage.
  • Manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Draft supply chain ITTs and terms of engagement.
  • Ensure accurate month‑end cost records and project accruals.
  • Maintain Cost‑to‑Complete and Risk Registers.
  • Prepare monthly CVRs and other required project reports.
  • Maximise cash position, including WIP control and cash‑flow planning.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
  • Lead cost control and cost‑mitigation activities.
  • Measure quantities in line with standard methods of measurement.
  • Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation.
  • Administer contracts, manage change, and maintain commercial registers.
  • Manage subcontractor/supplier accounts through to final agreement.

 

 

Qualifications, experience & skills:

  • Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics (RICS Accredited)
  • Desirable - Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
  • Full driving license.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract and CESSM4 method of Measurement
  • 5+ years Experience.
  • Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others.
  • Programming techniques, project controls, risk analysis, contract admin, procurement, cost, claims.
  • Marine & Civils experience would be a distinct advantage
