Murphy is recruiting for a Project Manager to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with United Utilities, as part of the AMP8 programme.

 

We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.


We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.

 

A day in the life of a Murphy Project Manager

  • Plan and deliver all work on a medium/large sized site or many smaller sites, ensuring work is completed on time and to the correct standard
  • Ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed and delivered
  • Build and develop the wider operational team to deliver all aspects of the project/contract requirements
  • Line management of Senior Site Managers, Site Managers and Section Managers
  • Responsible for effective client relationship management and provides updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress
  • Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required
  • Ensures operating plans are in place to ensure sufficient resources and materials are in place
  • Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics
  • Responsible for implementing CDP (Cultural Development Programme) on your sites

  • Successful experience as a Project Manager with demonstrable acumen to deliver a good profit margin.
  • Previous experience on a water/utilities project worth £15 million +
  • Previous experience delivering trenchless solutions, shafts, pipeline is preferable
  • Proven ability to lead teams and performance manage
  • IT literate: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams etc
  • Experience of planning and estimating
