Main Purpose of Role:

 

  • Murphy is recruiting an experienced Electrical Project Manager for multiple projects across the business
  • The candidate, as project manager, will ensure that the scope of works is delivered in a safe manner, on time, to the required quality standards, meeting the acceptance criteria and achieving the expected financial outcomes.
  • The role is ideal for a candidate that wishes make a step up to Contracts Manager level in the future.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Electrical Contract Scope of Works, incl. Design, Pre-Construction, Construction, Inspection, Testing,
  • Commissioning and Final Handover.
  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large installation projects.
  • Strong Electrical Systems experience with good knowledge of Commissioning activities.
  • Planning of all resources including labour, materials and specialist sub-contractors.
  • Manage and drive a large team to meet with all project requirements and deadlines.
  • Ensuring the adherence to EHS and Quality standards, as per the contract documentation.
  • Ensuring project profitability

 

 

Role Duties:

Ensuring EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) regulations are adhered to at all times.

Maintaining a high standard of Quality on site i.e. Workmanship and Materials installed.

Full working Knowledge of Electrical Industry regulations and Standards, incl:

  • BCAR 2014 legislation
  • Safe Electric guidelines
  • IS10101:2020 inc amendments
  • Working knowledge of ET&V (QC) process (electrical testing & verification and certification though safe electric)
  • Developing, implementing and managing the overall MES Construction Plan.
  • Developing, implementing and managing the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and where applicable Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
  • Developing, implementing and managing the project Construction Programme (inclusive of Testing and Commissioning activities) in line with project Budgets.
  • Developing, implementing and managing the project SHESQ Plan & Traffic Management Plan.
  • Managing Technical Submittal and RFI process in accordance with the Contract requirements.
  • Knowledge of BCAR 2014 legislation and CE Marking of Construction Products / Materials (where a harmonised EN standard exists).
  • Monitor our progress and the progress of others in accordance with the agreed project schedule and issuing Notifications where required.
  • Progress reporting against Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, Schedule and Cost objectives.
  • Co-ordinating of M&E Services and Buildability with the other Trade Contractors.
  • Building Client relationships, at all times. Developing trust.
  • Feeding back business ‘leads’ for future projects, phases, possibilities to Senior Contracts Manager. Organising and chairing required Internal and External meetings, usually weekly or bi-monthly.
  • Liaising with all sides of Project Team and directly with the Customer.
  • Project Cost Control and agreed profit margin to be delivered.
  • Material, plant and equipment procurement in accordance with schedule and project Budgets.
  • Managing in-directs and direct labour in accordance with Schedule and project Budgets. Specialist Sub-contractor procurement and management in accordance with schedule and project Budgets.
  • Managing Testing and Commissioning schedule to achieve agreed target, incl. Lock-out Tag-out (LOTO) control measures on site.
  • Managing Test Packs and O&M Manual production in accordance with agreed schedule and milestone dates.
  • Building a strong and cohesive team

 

 

  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • 5 – 7 years previous experience in Project Management with a recognised Electrical trade or main contractor
  • A Trade and/or relevant Third level qualification
  • Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large installation projects
  • Experienced dealing with Labour Management.
  • Experienced in design and build type projects.
  • EHS Knowledge and application
  • Experienced in complex Electrical Services work
  • Very good and demonstratable computer skills inc MS Project and Excel

  • Good experience and working knowledge of Electrical building services systems inc fire alarm, emergency lighting, distribution (LV and MV) comms and security
