Plant Apprenticeships

At Murphy we are an industry leader in the supply of plant, transport and equipment.

We manage and maintain more than £100 million worth of innovative, best in-class plant, transport and specialist equipment and our work spans multiple sectors. Our inventory includes over 15,000 assets, ranging from small tools to piling rigs, alongside our award-winning vehicle fleet which includes one of the UK’s most comprehensive collection of crawler cranes.

 

We are recruiting for a variety of apprenticeships for our Murphy Plant team, with opportunities available across our main depots:

  • Cannock, Staffordshire, WS11 7LH
  • Golborne, Warrington, WA3 3UB
  • Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2 7SS
  • Ollerton, Nottingham, NG22 9PZ

You may not know what you are interested in, or what type of apprenticeship would suit you best, however we are seeking individuals from all backgrounds who have a passion to work with our multi-million pound plant equipment and machinery.

 

Types of apprenticeships available:

  • HGV Driver – 15 months (Must be 18 years old & have a Full UK driving licence)
  • Logistics Planner – 15 months
  • Hire Coordinator - 15 months
  • Plant Mechanic – 2-3 years
  • Property Maintenance Operative – 2 years
  • Small Tools Technician – 2-3 years
  • Vehicle Mechanic – 3 years

What do I need to be considered for the apprenticeships? 

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade A*- D / 3-9 (or equivalent) 
  • You don’t need to have previous experience for the role, but you do need to be ready to learn, have a positive mindset and a can-do attitude! 
  • Eligible to work in the UK with a valid work permit if applicable. Please note, that we do not provide sponsorship.

Our Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process consists of two stages:

  1. Initial application (Don't worry if you don't have your own CV as of yet, instead please upload a document that tells us a little bit more about who you are, what you have studied and why you are interested in this apprenticeship). 
  2. In-person interview
