Murphy is recruiting for a General Foreman to work with the Energy Team on the National Grid, HWUP Project.

A day in the life of a Murphy General Foreman:

  • To plan and coordinate works on a small site or part of a site, ensuring work is completed on time and to the agreed standard.
  • Direct supervision of trade roles and sub-contractors ensuring standards are maintained and ensuring sufficient resources are available.
  • Ensure the work is delivered in accordance with the contract design and specifications.
  • To ensure trades roles and sub-contractors adhere to the highest standards of health, safety and environment ensuring compliance at all times.
  • To monitor progress periodically against the project plan and monitor expenditure, reporting any issues to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Review plant, labour and materials on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Liaise with the Site Manager and/or Project Manager to resolve any technical issues outside of the scope of works.
  • To comply with company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Manage and supervise Section Foremen, Trades, Operatives and/or Sub-Contractors.

  • SMSTS
  • Previous expertise of site supervision.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
