Murphy is recruiting for a Project Manager - Midlands to work with our Energy and Industry team on solar farm projects in the mindlands region.

The Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and commissioning of Renewable Projects from tender award to completion. This role ensures that all project objectives are met by coordinating resources, managing timelines and budgets, mitigating risks, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. The Project Manager plays a critical role in aligning project outcomes with organisational goals and delivering value through structured project delivery.
What you will be doing:
- Sets the overall standard on the projects/contract.
- Ensures our Core Values are implemented on our Projects.
- Ensures Safety, Health and wellbeing is Managed and Maintained to the standards we expect.
- Ensure the project requirements are identified and delivered.
- Identify issues and ensure they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner.
- To ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered. Line management of Site Managers, Site Engineers and Section Managers.
- Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
- Endure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed as and when required.
- Will be expected to resolve most operational issues with any business-critical issues referred to the Project Director and Contracts Manager.
- Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
- Overall performance management of subcontractors of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics.
Who we are looking for:
- Hold Civil Engineering, Construction Management Degree or a relevant trade certification
- Experience in Construction Contracts in particular Fidic and NEC
- Experience within a Project Managerial role.
- Experience in managing complex site-based projects.
- Experience of working on large renewable projects such as Solar and Wind
- Experience on Design and Build Projects
- Experience with Electrical Installations and Commissioning
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to develop close working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
