Murphy is recruiting for a Logistics Manager to work with our Trasport function team in Newbridge.
As Logistics Manager you will be responsible for the overall operation of the transport function. This includes organising schedules & routes, ensuring that vehicles are safe and meet legal requirements, and making sure that drivers are aware of their duties. You will join a large team where you will be responsible HGV drivers. Experience dealing with drivers & KPI's will be essential to be successful in this position. Standard working hours will be 07.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, however this may vary dependant on work loads etc. any suitable candidates will have to be CPC certified to be considered for this position.

What you will be doing:
- To be fully responsible and accountable for the day-to-day management and leadership of the transport team within a busy engineering company.
- Tachograph analysis and management.
- Build and maintain relationships with colleagues.
- De-brief drivers
- Develop a balanced approach to driving performance within the team, review and develop KPI's.
- Working with the Transport team on driver and vehicle availability
- Ensure outstanding documents from Depots and Suppliers are received and resolve any anomalies
- Any other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time by management.
- Ensure that transport operations meet legal and customer compliance requirements.
- Drive the Health & Safety culture in the team.
- Validate compliance with National and International Road haulage regulations
Who we are looking for:
- Strong track record of team leadership and development
- Haulage and logistics experience essential
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Good knowledge of the transport industry

- Strong interpersonal skills
- A positive and flexible attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- IT literacy and an Advance knowledge of MS Office -Excel, Access, VBA, Routing software and Power Bi.
- At least 5+ years of experience in a Transport Role
- Be flexible to the requirements of running the Transport operations.
