Murphy is recruiting for a Engineer to work with our Water team on united utilities AMP8 framework based at Fleetwood. 

We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.
We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.

 

A day in the life of a Murphy Engineer:

  • Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.
  • Carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan in a timely manner.
  • The production of survey information and red – lined drawings for the completion of the As-built records. Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHES department.
  • Supervision of assistant engineers.
  • Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
  • Accurate maintenance of Quality Management System records.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated, in date and suitable checked in accordance with company policies and the manufacturers’ defined requirements.
  • Ensure the site diary is accurately maintained noting against each record the date, location and identification number of equipment used.
  • Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate procedures.
  • Makes sure that only approved personnel are used to carry out the Works. Policies the outputs to confirm that the required level of quality is maintained.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of Sub-contractors in the performance of the Works. Informing senior management of any non-conformances. 
  • Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties.
  • Minimises environmental disturbance during construction works.

  • Earthworks, experience of earthworks and drainage projects, ideally within a railway environment.
  • Full driving licence and flexible to travel
