Murphy is recruiting for a Estimator to work with Water on the Thames Water Framework.
We provide end-to-end services for major water and sewage companies such as Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities, and for several water-only companies including SES Water, Bristol Water and South East Water.
We also provide a full design, build, operate and maintain service for Uisce Éireann and we currently operate over 25 of their facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and comply fully with EPA regulations.
A day in the life of a Murphy Estimator
- Be the primary lead on a large-scale programme of works
- Drive best practice throughout the function and into the wider bid structure
- Maintain procedures and systems for the estimating department
- Produce enquiry schedules for scope of works & packages required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued
- Identify tender deliverables required
- Evaluate returned quotations from suppliers and where necessary enter correspondence with suppliers to bring quotations in line with the project specification requirements

- Proven track record in the Water industry
- Exposure to clean and wastewater infrastructure, and water treatments works
- Proven successful estimating experience in civil engineering
- Experienced in bottom up pricing
- Extensive variety in types of work priced
- Preference for good knowledge of Candy estimating software
- Personal drive and tenacity to get the job done, in the right way
