Murphy is recruiting for an Emerging Talent & Engineering Coordinator to work with our People team in Newbridge.

Main Purpose of Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Emerging Talent & Engineering Coordinator to join our People Team in Ireland. This is a varied role that supports both the People and Engineering teams. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is good at organising tasks, and wants to support emerging talent in a technical environment.

The role reports to the Emerging Talent and Engineering Advisor on the People Team and works closely with Engineering Leads to support training, development programmes, and professional growth. A key focus will be making sure graduates, apprentices, interns, and students have a positive and consistent experience across the business.

 

Role Duties

Emerging Talent & People Team Support

  • Schedule check-ins with graduates and coordinate feedback collection for all training.
  • Ensure timely communication around upcoming training sessions – send reminders, manage diaries, and inform line managers.
  • Manage the Emerging Talent mailbox, ensuring queries are monitored, triaged and responded to in a timely and professional manner, escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Collate CVs for emerging talent candidates (graduates, apprentices, interns) and liaise with hiring managers to schedule interviews.
  • Co-ordinate the recruitment, contract issuing and onboarding of emerging talent program participants.
  • Engage with university partners and sponsorships – identify opportunities and support engineering and resourcing teams with planning.
  • Organise travel and logistics for early careers training and UK visits.
  • Represent Murphy at school visits, careers fairs and early careers events.
  • Assist with planning of early careers inductions, training sessions, and cohort-wide events.
  • Manage any associated invoicing and admin tasks related to outreach events and school/university engagement.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging talent programmes, initiatives and industry developments, sharing relevant insights and ideas with the Emerging Talent & Engineering Advisor.
  • Organise the Murphy TY/Work Experience Programme


Engineering Support

  • Coordinate the Engineering Mentor/Mentee programme – maintain register, track feedback, and ensure compliance.
  • Work with the people development coordinator to maintain and update the Engineering Skills Matrix and CPD Register every 6 months, analyse trends, and coordinate any follow-up training.
  • Attend Engineering Leads Meetings, draft minutes, and manage the Action Register.
  • Support Engineers Ireland accreditation submissions.
  • Manage Engineers Ireland membership records.
  • Plan and coordinate college visits.
  • Keep Engineering Team SharePoint pages and Training Calendars up to date.
  • Support reporting and data analysis for engineering training and development activities.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a coordinator or administrative role.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).
  • Interest in early talent development and/or engineering functions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel to different sites and occasionally the UK.
