Murphy is recruiting for a Electrical Engineer to work with Energy in Dublin.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop HV/MV cabling system specifications, including concept and detailed design, as well as design reviews. Provide estimation, site supervision, and technical support as needed.
  • Conduct cable sizing, rating, TMF, EMF, and sheath-induced voltage calculations, along with other critical technical assessments.
  • Offer expert guidance to the team on all aspects of HV/MV cable system engineering and design.
  • Perform design reviews and verifications to ensure adherence to regulatory standards, legislation, and company procedures. Assist with temporary works design schemes where required.
  • Prepare technical specifications for plant and equipment, power cable route specifications, tender documents, and progress reports. Ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders. Attend and lead internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors to align on project objectives.
  • Foster strong working relationships with clients, designers, and the supply chain to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Verify that drawings and specifications contain complete, accurate, and actionable information for construction. Proactively request missing details in a timely manner to avoid delays.
  • Ensure inspection and test plans are completed in accordance with project specifications.

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Power Systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a comparable high-voltage design position, preferably within a utility or high-voltage contracting setting.
  • Skilled in using design and analysis tools including CYMCAP and Cableizer.
  • HV substation design knowledge is desirable.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
