Murphy is recruiting an Senior Project Manager to support our expanding Water & Wastewater portfolio, delivering full design‑to‑operation solutions for Uisce Éireann, Northern Ireland Water and other key clients, underpinned by our commitment to delivering safely, responsibly and to the highest standards.
What you will be doing:
- Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing a “one team” culture
- Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site
- Work closely and collaborate with all key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third‑party agencies, ensuring a positive client experience
- Lead and co‑ordinate the multi‑discipline civil, MEICA and process team to deliver projects on‑time, on‑budget and to the highest quality standards
- Facilitate the co‑ordination role of the PSDP for live projects with internal and external designers
- Represent the company as PSCS on live sites and ensure all required documentation is present and up to date
- Conduct regular Health & Safety inspections, toolbox talks and white‑board meetings
- Ensure best practice project management techniques are used; monitor project performance including risks and opportunities, and mitigate/reduce risk where possible
- Report monthly project performance to the framework manager, including programme, budget and HSQE
- Lead procurement of supplies and sub‑contracts; manage project cashflow and support interim payment applications with the Contracts/Commercial Manager
- Build and promote industry‑leading teams through training, mentoring, resource management and recruitment; support tendering opportunities when required
- Respond to client/stakeholder issues, obtain satisfaction surveys, provide lessons‑learned feedback, and keep appraised of latest standards and technology through CPD
Who we are looking for:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry
- Experienced in the Project Management of Civil and MEICA engineering works such as Water and waste water treatement plants, mechanical system installation and electrical installation packages
- Ability to engage with the customer as well as suppliers and sub-contractors in financial negotiations and final account agreements
- Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project
- Ability to prepare baseline programmes and programme updates
- Ability to use own initiative, problem solve, work under pressure and adjust as issues arise during project delivery
- Excellent working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Full Driving License
