Murphy is recruiting an Process Design Engineer to support our expanding Water & Wastewater portfolio, delivering full design‑to‑operation solutions for Uisce Éireann, Northern Ireland Water and other key clients, underpinned by our commitment to delivering safely, responsibly and to the highest standards.
What you will be doing:
- Working within a multiple disciplinary Process Engineering team to provide process design solutions in all areas of water and wastewater treatment, predominantly for Irish Water and UK Water Authorities.
- Prepare and oversee preliminary and detailed design documents, engineering specifications and perform calculations in support of water process engineering activities.
- Completing optioneering reports, pre and post project completion documentation in accordance with company standard.
- Evaluate and assess hydraulic designs in conjunction with detailed knowledge and experience of treatment processes.
- Co-ordination and scheduling the work of a team of Project Engineers of varying experience levels to ensure tender delivery and project process treatment design.
- Maintain daily communications with other engineering departments, electrical, mechanical engineering drawing, controls and automation to ensure the development and provision of turnkey water/wastewater treatment solutions.
- Review supplier information to assure compliance with Project requirements
- To ensure compliance with all company Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
- Support business development activities by demonstrating quality assurance and competence of the water/wastewater process design team
- Develop and maintain communications with key decision makers within the Company client base for the process of identifying engineering opportunities for company development
Who we are looking for:
- A qualified engineer in either environmental, chemical or process engineering, or equivalent, with 3 -8 years’ experience in municipal water/wastewater treatment
- Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving capabilities
- A self - motivated team leader capable of participating within a leadership role with the ability to manage workload to deliver to time, cost and quality objectives
- Capable of assessing complex engineering problems with the ability to utilise proprietary software packages to deliver the basis for engineering solutions
- Capacity to connect and develop relationships with equivalent team leaders and Operational Management within the company and contribute to strategy development and business planning
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
