Job Purpose:

 

Murphy are hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering renewable energy and HV/MV substation and cables projects across Ireland. Never Harm

  • Develop knowledge in planning, managing and delivering works in a safe, controlled and environmentally sustainable manner.
  • Ensure a strong culture for Never Harm is present on the project; actively promote engagement with the CDP programme.
  • Ensure risk assessments are created, in place and reviewed regularly.
  • Carry out all work in accordance with health and safety and any other legal requirements

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design HV/MV substations and control/protection systems
  • Produce drawings: SLDs, layouts, schematics
  • Detailed design covering all aspects of High & Low voltage equipment and control and protection systems
  • Preparation and interpretation of technical specifications and enquiry documentation
  • Ensure compliance with design standards and client requirements
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Complying with specific project safety requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of technical and contract documentation for issue.
  • Monitor progress against the program and issue progress reports.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
  • Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control.
  • Resolving technical problems at all levels.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ years’ experience working as an Electrical Engineer (desirable)
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Good technical capabilities, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • Strong written, oral and numeracy skills.
