Murphy Water are hiring an Electrical Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to work on the commissioning and maintenance of Water and Wastewater projects across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Contractor. The successful candidate will join the Murphy Water engineering business within the Operations Department. Duties
- Onsite maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, PLC based electrical control systems and instrumentation.
- Fault diagnostics and modification to existing electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Electrical and instrumentation equipment onsite commissioning.
- Carry out Preventative maintenance schedules and modifications to existing sites as per Electrical maintenance Supervisor / client requirements.
- Site acceptance tests and system sign off with the client.
- Monitoring and optimisation of instrumentation, PLC and electrical control systems.
- Preparation of technical specifications and management of contractors.
- Coordinate with electrical, and mechanical personnel to achieve project deadlines.
- Generate maintenance documentation to meet project specifications.
- Work closely with operations and controls staff to ensure effective and continuous operation of relevant processes as per the project specifications.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the company procedures observing proper health and safety.
- Responsible for ensuring all electrical and instrumentation installations on projects assigned are installed as per approved documentation and in accordance with relevant standards.
Skills/ Experience
- Motivated, self-starter with excellent communications skills
- Minimum 5 years electrical experience in a process commissioning role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- PLC & HMI programming skills and experience desirable
- Experience within the Water / Wastewater industry a distinct advantage▪
- Be a punctual, motivated, and organised self-starter who is enthusiastic and conscientious about completing work on time and to a high standard.
- Full clean Driver’s license.
Qualifications
Must hold National Craft Certificate in Electrical and/or Instrumentation or equivalent.
