Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer - East Cork to work with our Energy and Industry team on an oil refinery in East Cork.

What you will be doing:

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation activities including piping, valves, supports.
• Ensure work is carried out according to engineering drawings, specifications, and refinery standards.
• Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of mechanical works.
• Ordering material and tracking material inventory.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and refinery practices.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments.
• Creation of test packs including weld histories, NDT & hydrotest reports.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
• Liaise with design engineers to resolve technical issues and implement design changes.
• Support commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and test results.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and submit to project management.
• Assist in preparing as-built documentation and handover packages.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Coordinate with refinery personnel for permits, access, and shutdowns.

Who we are looking for:

• Relevant CSCS card and required competency/skills certifications.
• Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor junior staff in all aspects of site engineering
• Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
• Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top Level Management, Senior level clients and public.
• Previous experience on oil, gas, or refinery projects (experience in water or pharmaceutical sectors may also be considered).
