Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Engineer - East Cork to work with our Energy and Industry team on an oil refinery in East Cork.

What you will be doing:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation activities including piping, valves, supports.
- Ensure work is carried out according to engineering drawings, specifications, and refinery standards.
- Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of mechanical works.
- Ordering material and tracking material inventory.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and refinery practices.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments.
- Creation of test packs including weld histories, NDT & hydrotest reports.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
- Liaise with design engineers to resolve technical issues and implement design changes.
- Support commissioning and testing of mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and test results.
- Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and submit to project management.
- Assist in preparing as-built documentation and handover packages.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Coordinate with refinery personnel for permits, access, and shutdowns.
Who we are looking for:
- Relevant CSCS card and required competency/skills certifications.
- Demonstrate ability to manage and mentor junior staff in all aspects of site engineering
- Ability to produce, implement and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures.
- Ability and confidence to communicate and present to Top Level Management, Senior level clients and public.
- Previous experience on oil, gas, or refinery projects (experience in water or pharmaceutical sectors may also be considered).
