Job Title:  SHESQ Advisor - Cork (Gas)

Murphy is recruiting for a SHESQ Advisor - Cork (Gas) to work with our Natural Resources team on the Whitegate Oil Refinery in Cork.

 

We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procure, Fabrication, Maintain and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner. This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions and renewable energies.

What you will be doing:

  • The SHESQ Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring that our construction projects comply with Safety and Health legislation and company standards.
  • The Advisor will report directly to the Senior SHESQ Advisor.
  • Assisting in maintenance of the Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Quality Management Systems and to ensure continued compliance with ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 9001
  • Carrying out inductions and producing monthly statistics
  • Champion Culture Development Programme (behaviour-based safety programme)
  • Carry out and document site audits and inspections
  • Keeping up to date with changes in safety, health and environmental legislation and construction industry guidance
  • Ensuring personnel on site have the pre-requisite training records
  • Investigating, logging, and monitoring of Incidents and Non-conformances
  • Identifying significant safety impacts for work areas and helping set-up of appropriate controls
  • Ensure all safety and environmental records are kept and readily available
  • Prepare and present toolbox talks as and when required
  • Prepare and present at monthly safety meetings
  • Review subcontractor documentation

 

Who we are looking for:

  • Higher Diploma in Health & Safety
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience on mechanical and civil projects.
  • Oil Refinery experience advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with one or more teams.
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
