Murphy is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor - Whitegate to work with our Natural Resources team on an Oil Refinery in Whitegate Co. Cork.
We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procure, Fabrication, Maintain and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner. This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions and renewable energies.
What we are looking for:
- To provide assistance to the Senior & Managing QS, and support on all commercial issues within the projects
- Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team.
- Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance
- Development, motivation & performance management of junior staff
- Preparation of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
- Preparation of Valuations/Application for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contrac
- Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation
- Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
- Challenge & manage in cost control / cost mitigation
- Implement a WBS structure to satisfy the Client & Contract requirements.
- Assist with preparation of the Cost to Complete and Risk analysis Register for the projects(s).
- Helping to maximise the cash position, including WIP control, cash flow production & improvement plans.
Who we are looking for:
- Degree Qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics
- On route to being Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MSCI) or equivalent
- Full Driving Licence
- All roles are expected to have the relevant competency skills cards
- Commercially astute and excellend knowledge of standard forms of contract and standard methods of measurement
- Civil Engineering Works
- Gas Pipelines and AGI Installations (desirable)
- Solar Farm Installations (desirable)
- Estimating and takeoffs (desirable)
