Main Purpose of Role: 

The Mechanical Supervisor role involves supervising mechanical operatives and subcontractors carrying out pipework installation, modification and repair works, ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, permit-to-work requirements and Murphy safety standards. 

The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for planning daily activities, monitoring progress against programme, maintaining high workmanship standards and promoting a strong safety culture while liaising closely with site management and client representatives to ensure works are delivered efficiently and without impact to client operations. 

 

Role Duties:

  • Undertake and manage pipefitting activities, overseeing and coordinating the onsite workforce.
  • Demonstrate experience in valve installation, bolting, large-bore piping, and small-bore tubing works.
  • Ability to work from ISO drawings.
  • Clearly define expectations with onsite team.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely, to agreed timescales, and in accordance with required quality standards and specifications. 

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualification in mechanical fitting, Torque/Tensioning, Tubing or similar.
  • Proven on-site experience. 
  • Ability to follow, interpret and explain technical instructions.
  • Previous Pipe Fitting and mechanical install experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and ability to produce daily production report.
  • Previous experience working on Energy projects within the gas or oil industry (similar works in water or pharmaceutical would also be considered).
