Steel Erector

As a steel erector, you will be responsible for assembling and installing structural steel components on our sites, your expertise and attention to safety will be essential in facilitating the successful completion of various structural steel projects.
What you will be doing:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and steel erection requirements.
- Coordinate with the site manager, and other team members to plan and schedule the sequence of steel erection activities.
- Safely and efficiently put erectors to work and keep to piece count / programme.
- Ensure communications with HSEQ Advisor.
- Rig and lift heavy steel components into place using cranes or other lifting equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Monitor and adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to create a safe work environment. Duties include Safety paperwork, Adhering to Hold Points.
Who we are looking for:
- Experience in Structural Steel
- NVQ Lvl 3 in steel Erecting (min)
- CSCS or other CITB approved card.
- SSSTS Mandatory
- SMSTS Advantageous.
- IPAF (mandatory)
- TWC / TWS preferred.
- Knowledge of health and safety and lifting regulations (mandatory)
- Valid UK driving licence (Mandatory)
- Experience of working at heights (leading edge/harness training)
- Slinger signaller (preferred)
- Banksman would be advantageous
- Telehandler would be advantageous
- Working away from home will be expected.
- Highlight erection drawings and communicate progress to senior managers.
- Accurately populate digital daily dairies with progress.
